Office Not available

Steve Reece

I had a bad drive, removed it and reinstalled XP on
another drive in my system that contained Office XP Pro.
Now I am unable to access my Office programs. I cannot
reinstall me Office XP Pro "upgrade" because setup cannot
find a previous version. Any ideas on how I can fix this
problem? Word, Excel, etc are in the Programs file on my
drive, I simply cannot access, error message is, system
not configured...

When you originally installed Office, did you select the option to place the
programs on a second hard drive or partition? If yes, the installation
still needed to put a number of files on your C:\ drive. If this is the
drive that failed, you will need to reinstall Office.

If this is an upgrade version, the prior qualifying product was to be kept
as the upgrade includes the license for the QP. If you no longer have the
qualifying product, you are ineligible for the upgrade version and your
license is void.
