Open File Dialogue - document properties "pop up"

Any time I hover over a file in the open file dialogue, I get a "pop up" box
showing the properties of the file; this box covers the other files and I
can't see them to look for the file I need. Can this feature be shut off?

This is a Windows setting, the last option under Tools | Folder Options |
View.
