Percent Complete Issue

Kirsten

This may be more of an analytical question rather than a MS Project Function,
but my issues is this:

In my project I have 3 different phases, Functional Design, Technical Design
and Development. All the tasks I have in each phase are identical and
dependent on one another. My percent complete for Section 1 in the
Functional Design show 90% complete, but my Technical Design shows 97%
complete. I cannot figure out why my percentages are not the same since all
the subtasks are showing the exact same percentages in each phase.

This may be confusing, so let me know if you need additional information.
Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Hello Kirsten,

Percent complete in Project is calculated based upon actual and
remaining duration -- specifically Actual Duration/(Actual Duration
+ Remaining Duration) * 100

Try showing the Tracking table and comparing actual and remaining
duration for the tasks -- I imagine there is a difference somewhere.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
