Project has no set date

Hello
How do I input tasks that do not have a set date?? Everytime, i put the
task, it is defaulted to today's date.. i want to leave the date blank.
also how do i remove the constraint sign without changing any of the dates.
Everytime i remove it, it reset to today's date..

Hi,

Project will calculate a date from your input.

Your input may be a link from another task (the normal way, some claim it
should be the only way) or a constraint. So when you don't introduce the
links and you don't like the constraints, then Project does not have any
choice but to default the task to the start of the project.
Since it is its PURPOSE to calculate dates it cannot but do so, a blank
Start field is against the objectives of the tool itself.
