trying to recover pst file but whenever try to copy it get CRC error.
Any way i can repair this file or get at least parts of it?
I understand that the problem is with the harddrive but i need something
that can either copy the file or at least be able to use the parts that are
readable.

thank you very much

What happens if you run checkdisk?

Start->run->chkdsk -r

I have seen it run for much longer - let it run to completion and you may be
able to recover your .pst file and copy to a USB or other medium.

How large is the pst file? If it is anywhere around or close to 2 gb then
yes it/is will/be/get corrupted. Search your HD for scanpst.exe and follow
the instructions here http://www.slipstick.com/problems/scanpst.htm

i guess its worth a try. However by the end the scan the HD wasnt even
flashing. Maybe i shouldve mention that this laptop was dropped from a
height. And now even OS is kind of funky.

Oh, the sudden deceleration error - you probably have broken something
besides the hard drive - can you take it out and put it in another notebook
and boot from it?

There's one called an EZ-Gig. We use them here in the office for that
purpose.
