Hi,
Updating the percent complete value with the calculation option 'Move start
of remaining parts before status date forward to status date' checked
normally results in the task splitting automatically, with the remaining
portion of the task starting on the status date. Ie, a 10-day task at 50%
would have 5 days left, starting on the status date.
BUT sometimes for a few tasks this doesn't work, and the unfinished portion
stays to the left of the status date. Even using Tools\Tracking\Update
Project 'Reschedule uncompleted work to start after' will not move the
remaining work. Anybody know why???
Details:
Project 2003 SP2, Fixed Duration task type default, sometimes problem tasks
have successors, sometimes they don't, seems more likely to happen when a SS
linkage is involved, but not always. No resources defined. No subprojects.
