resource time on task

Hello,

I am new to project and here is my simple scenario.

I have a task of 2 days which comes to 16 hours, correct?

I also have two resources, one resource is scheduled to work weekends(6
hrs/day) and 2 hours during the work week; the other works just the
week-ends(6 hrs/day).

If I schedule both resources (they start on the sunday), project schedules
each resource with 8 hours and has the both resources working on sunday and
accounts for 12h. On Monday it give resource 1 his final 2 hrs and off the
rest of the week and waits till Saturday to give resource 2 his final 2 hrs.

What I would like to do is start on the Sunday(12h) and allocate resource #1
2h per day till the task is complete. It seems that it should do this
automatically to finish the task as soon as possible.

I guess it is a setting somewhere.

any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

You may establish custom work hours for each resource. Go to View/Resource
Sheet.
Double click on the resource name and pull the working hours tab and make
any necessary changes to work days and hours.

You may also place general availablitly constraints on the worker from the
General tab.

Changes made here do no impact the overall project calendar, only for that
one resource. You may need to make some of your tasks "fixed duration" to
get this up and running the way you expect.
