shared resource pool

I have a number of projects linked together in a master
project file. I am using a shared resource pool to manage
the resources. I reassign resources as necessary, but
have noticed that when I do, the some of the finish dates
and finish variance values change (I expect this is
normal). What seems abnormal is that if I change the
resource back to the one previously assigned, the finish
dates and finish variance do not return to their original
values. What gives?
