slow opening

when I open some word file it takes a little long, in the task bar I see
message 'requesting virus scan' and sometimes I also see 'converting
something? '
Please help to resolve.

Disable the Office Plugin that comes with Symantec/Norton AntiVirus.

Howdy,

Are you using Norton Anti-Virus...?

If so, open it, go to the Options page Other | Miscellaneous
and un-check "Enable Office Plug-in."

(That is the wording in my version of NAV, but the precise
wording in other versions might differ. If so, look in the
NAV helpfile for "Office."
