Sub-folders have disappeared

I've been using Entourage for the past 9 months. At work, we recently
changed from a POP mail GMail account to a hosted Exchange server. I set up
a new POP account for the Exchange server, and had both of them there in my
folder view. They both showed up as expandable icons (looks like a server on
the network), and had Inbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items, etc, as children. I
also had 2 other POP accounts that did the same thing.

I was annoyed that it kept using my old account as the default when I sent
mail, so went to account settings, and made the Exchange account my default.

When I came back, Exchange was the default, but the other accounts now all
showed up as non-expandable mail icons (icon looks like an envelope on the
network), and I can click on them, but can't see sent emails, etc. Also, and
worse, all mail sent to me prior to the change is gone - and of course I had
9 months of email in the other account.

I'm not even sure where to look for the other files - the Microsoft User
Data folder doesn't seem to have anything useful.

All I can think is that I may have inadvertently done something other than
just making the Exchange folder the default - I've thought of trying to
change it back, but haven't yet.

Any ideas on
1) Where my mail went, and how do I get it back?
2) Why did all the other mailboxes suddenly lose their expandability, and
how do they get it back?
3) What on earth did I do to cause this?

Any assistance appreciated.

Hi,
I've been using Entourage for the past 9 months.

Out of curiosity, why didn't set it up as an Exchange account??
It has great advantages over POP (or even IMAP if you can't do Exchange
for whatever reason).

Could be a database corruption.
Make sure Entourage is perfectly up to date, then launch it pressing the
Option key down to rebuild the database.
I'm not even sure where to look for the other files - the Microsoft User
Data folder doesn't seem to have anything useful.

Don't touch the folder. It has everything in a big database and believe
me, you don't want to play with it.
