Unprotect Shape or Layer

I want to delete one of the shapes with text in it but I'm getting a message
that "Shape protection and/or layer properties prevent complete execution of
this commend" How do I unlock the protection? I don't have any protection on
the shape... so it must be a layer.

PS. I apologize if this a double post from me but I can't find my 1st post.

What type of diagram? What type of shape?

Look at the layer properties, menu View -> Layer Properties.
