Which column displays lag time...

Hi...

Is there a column that just shows the lag time between a task and its
predecessor?

Thanks

I'm not entirely sure what you are asking so here are three answers:

The lag on the dependency is shown in the predecessor column.

The amount of time a task can slip before it affects its earliest successor
is shown in the free slack column.

If you are talking about the amount of time between a task and each of the
predecessors whether driving or not then the answer is no.

Dear Smarf -

In Gantt Chart view, MS Project does not provide any field just to show the
lag between current task and its predecessors.

Instead, you can split the Gantt Chart view (Choose Window, Split) to
display the Task Form view at the bottom of Gantt Chart.

By default, the Task Form view would display only the resource assignment
and predecessor information of the currently selected task in Gantt Chart.
Predecessor table would show the name of the predecessor with dependency type
and lag as separate columns :)

If you would view other information of the currently selected task, then
right click on the Task Form and choose the appropriate option.

If my suggestion helps, please consider rating my reply. Thanks!

Awesome...Thanks to all of you! All answers helped me a lot. Both
methods work, the split window is very useful, and so is displaying
the predecessor column in Gantt Chart. I can edit in the Task Form/
Lag column, as well as by editing in the Gantt Chart Predecessors
column.

Thanks a million!
