Windows tries to install DAO.msi at boot-up & randomly without pat

Everytime my system boots up (at my direction or spontaneously), on my
Desktop screen I get a box pop-up message that Windows is installing DAO.msi.
Then I get another box pop-up message that Windows can't find this file in a
specific & apparently expected location, to install it. I've searched my
system, including hidden file folders/files, for DAO.msi, and it isn't on my
HD. Net effect is that I have to cancel this action, it tries it for a 2nd
time immediately, I cancel that also, and this doesn't re-appear unless I'm
opening up some program...never seems to be the same programs and doesn't
occur with regularity/consistency that I can tie to a specific program(s). I
cannot see a pattern to it showing up again. I have found out that DAO.msi
is related to MS Office XP, not the MS Office Pro 2003 that I have on my
system. A while back, I had to replace my HD & chose to reinstall all
software rather than use a backup, so I know my HD has no remnants of earlier
versions of Windows and/or Office XP on it.
This might be a part of what's going on, or it may be a separate issue...
Regardless of what I'm doing or program(s) I'm using at the moment, system
spontaneously reboots. Error messages are sent by me on OCR at MS, & only
information I get out of the reports sent are that some unknown installed
component (hardware/software?) caused a sudden STOP, generating a reboot.
I've looked at all my drivers/software/hardware, yet all drivers are
signed/WHQL & current, there are no problems/conflicts indicated by Windows
or Norton diagnostics with hardware/software, and I'm stumped.
Thought I'd mention this, even though this spontaneous reboot from some
system Stop error is not in conjunction with the the attempting to install
DAO.msi problem, at least in terms of timing.
How can I fix this DAO install thing? Secondarily, unless it's related
to the DAO.msi install issue, how do I determine specifically what software,
what files, what hardware drivers, and/or what hardware component is causing
this...and much more important...how do I fix it?
Step-by-step suggestions highly appreciated!
