Does the server have FrontPage extensions?
If you publish using http:// it does.
If so, open FrontPage and create a new empty site on your machine, name it, save it and
close it.
Then open the Live ( server ) site in FrontPage and after it opens click File > Publish
Site and publish the site form the server to the new empty site on your machine.

Hi Wad,

The copy and paste you were hoping for would be a very lengthy process,
having to click on each page and view the source and copy into seperate blank
FP pages (in code view) over-writing the default code FP automatically
creates. Unless you have the images used in the site, none will display using
this method. if the images display on the web, right-click on an image, and
click on properties, this will show the location of the image(s).

Have you tried to import the site, open FP, click on file, import, the
import site wizard will open. click the radio button "http", then complete
the web address and click next, a save to destination window will open,
choose the location you want to save the site to. You may need to create a
new folder in My Web Sites first. If so, you can do this when you click on
browse. Good luck,!

I have had very similar experiences, I lost my info after my in-house server
took a big dump!

If the live/remote server doesn't have the FP extensions, then use a FTP application to download the
site to a folder on your HD, then open the folder in FP, Any theme, navigation structure, shared
borders, etc will have to be recreated.

If the live/remote server has the FP extensions, then open the live/remote server directly in FP and
publish a copy back to your local HD.

Avoid using the Import Wizard, as you will only get the content that is viewable when the site is
viewed in a browser.
