How can I get the bar code to appear in a mail merge?

Am creating a newsletter in Publisher 2000. I know how to mail merge from
Excel, but the bar code does not appear. How can I get the bar code to print
on the document?

I just learned that it was easier/cheaper/quicker to let my bulk mailing guy
verify my addresses, print them on the flyer along with the correct bar
code...use their bulk mailing license and it only cost 20 cents instead of
44.

20 bucks per k to tab the flyer (pre-folded)
20 cents postage
90 bucks per k handling

bada bing...got a few thousand out in less time it woulda taken me to do the
merge myself. Of course I provided the Excel data, but they cleaned it up
and gave me a clean file back

still worked out cheaper than me doing it myself.
