Linking Excel into Word

Darryl

1. How can I insert an active Excel link into Word 2002?

2. My Excel file will be too wide to fit in a letter size
space. How can I rotate a linked file so it shows up
lengthwise in my letter?

I hope this thread develops.

1. In our shop, no one does linking, and there seems to
be a preference to Copy & Paste Special as a picture.
Decorations are done in Excel. I prefer to do a simple
Copy/Paste that leaves a Word table to be decorated. The
data is available to any recipient, and I prefer
not to do the decorations in Excel. The MVPS site has
good stuff on tables.

2. Probably introduce a section break and then go for
landscape in the page setup. There have been lots of
discussions on headers and titles.

One trick I used was to put a text box on my page, then Paste Special>RTF
into the box. I had it all on a macro that would paste the table, then
resize and format the box and the "picture" inside it to fit my page. I did
create a Section Break (Next Page) and go to landscape if necessary. The
idea of using the text box was to allow some control over where it sat on
the page, and to allow resizing of the contents by simply resizing the box.
