OK, I've found the .pst file, now what?

OK... I found the .pst file. when I click on it and
do "open with" Outlook Express it just opens Outlook
Express with my most current emails in it. I want my
current emails. I want my old E-mails. I want my
calendars back, my address books... I want all of the
info that was lost When MS security update corrupted my
MRB!

Also, a different subject, Why can't I backup to CDRom
with the back up program in Windows XP? I don't have 700
floppy disks!

This is really frustrating and only the tip of the
iceberg since a MS Security update is responsible for
screwing up my machine in the first place

Thats because the pst file is an Outlook data file not Outlook Express, a
different app.
So what were you using as yr email app before; OL or OE?

I'm just following what this person for MS told me...

I WAS using Outlook express. So I guess you can answer my
question, I ended up with a corrupted MBR after doing a
MS Security upgrade. I mamnged to recover my files but I
can't do a WinXP recovery.

How do I get my Outlook Express Old Emails off of a
different disk?

Hi -

This is a group to support Outlook from the Office group of programs.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and is a quite different
program, despite its similar name..

You will probably get a faster and more expert answer if you post this to an
Outlook Express news group.

Try posting in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.outlookexpress.mac for OE for Macintosh

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).

A good website for information on OE is:
http://www.tomsterdam.com/

From a prev.post, afraid I have little knowledge of OE, other than knowing
that
mail is in *.dbx files
