Tools>Macro Greyed Out

L

I am building a form in Microsoft Word 2003 and I want to build a Macro and
the option has been greyed out in my tools menu dropdown.

What can I do so that I can enable it so I can build a macro?
Please help! Thank you!

Have you by any chance protected the form? If so then many of the menu items
under 'Tools | Macro>' , including 'Macros', will be disabled (as will many
other menu items and toolbar buttons). This is expected behaviour.

To re-enable these menu items, simply unprotect the form first and the
reprotect it after you have created your macro.

Alt+F11 should open the vba editor whether or not the form is protected.
Note that in order to run some macros in forms you will need to unprotect
the form in code before the macro can process the document, then reprotect
e.g. http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/MacrosVBA/SpellcheckProtectDoc.htm
