What does "... not available" mean

When I save a document on Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, and I try to open it
up again, a window pops up and says, "file ____ is not avaiable"
I opened the documents on Wordpad and they come up. But when I open them
with Word, Excel, or Powerpoint they do not open. Even when I try to open my
previous documents I had typed and created on Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint
the assistant says, "file ____ is not available" I can't save and re-open
anything anymore. I need help!

I would begin by making sure you have installed all service packs for your
version of Office.
