Where do I find Contact Folder info?

I had a computer problem and took my computer to someone
to have them help me reinstall XP. When they did that,
they installed Office 2002 as well. All of my old contact
information from my old Office 2000 is not located in the
new version. I still have the old version and info
located in a seperate archive folder that I created before
the reinstall, but I don't know how to import the info or
what folder/file name the contact information would be
in. Can anyone help???

Hi, Suzanne,

Have you asked the person who re-installed your computer to please restore
your data?

If you are using Outlook, your data is probably stored in a PST file. You
can open it in Outlook and copy over all the entries into your new Contacts
folder.

Beyond that, I'd contact the tech.

Unfortunately the tech and my father-in-law had a huge
falling out about the work he did and was told to never
come back. Filed with the Better Business Bureau but not
a lot of good that will do me trying to recover all of
this data that wasn't restored properly.

Maybe an easier way to ask would be..

If I were to try and copy my Outlook 2000 contacts from
another computer into a Outlook 2002 on another computer,
how would I do it?

Ah, I understand. It's helpful to know a little bit of background.

At any rate, as my previous message indicated, look in your archive for a
PST file. Hopefully there's only one. Open it in Outlook using File | Open
| Outlook Data File.

Then copy the contacts entries from it into your new Outlook 2002 Contacts
folder.

Hope that helps--

For some real Outlook expertise, try posting to one of the Outlook
